First I would like to take this opportunity again to express my sincere thanks to all your support for the last two International Conferences on Solid Waste; and "YOU" made the events grand and successful: (1) ICSWHK2011: Moving Towards Sustainable Resource Management; and (2) ICSWHK2013: Innovations in Technology and Management. Hosting back to back International Conferences is not an easy task; but the interest shown by various stakeholders stimulated us to venture organizing the sequel meeting
"International Conference on Solid Wastes 2015: Knowledge Transfer for Sustainable Resource Management (ICSWHK2015)".
I am so privileged and very pleased to invite you to actively participate the conference and deliberate on various issues on sustainable waste management.
The concept of "Wastes are misplaced resources", is already conceived; but the realization in a systematical way around the world is yet to begin. From the last decade, the sustainability issues of both management and treatment of solid wastes constitute the heart of the problem and embrace acceptance by many countries. Now it is the time to fuse the sustainability and effective resource utilization. Most importantly, time is crucial and the human are stamping their authority and challenging the resilience of the Mother Nature knowingly or unknowingly. Therefore, every stakeholders need to join hands to protect our Earth through sustainable use and management of resources. Sharing and knowledge transfer can provide impetus on reducing the trial and error time required at different parts of the world on a specific issue. Solid waste management is a collective effort and will be efficient and sustainable if stakeholders understand their own responsibility and accountability of preserving the environment to our future generations and this is what the Conference ultimately aims for.
ICSWHK2015 will definitely provide you a great opportunity and platform to exchange your views, visions, and experiences on waste treatment technology and sustainable waste management among scientists, academics, practitioners and policy makers from all over the world. We also wish this conference can be a turning point for companies involved in waste management to build up a network.
This is a unique opportunity for the young scientists and researchers who are specialized in waste management. Outstanding papers will be published in special issues of SCI Journals after review. Best Poster Award, and Young Researcher Award are also waiting to acknowledge and embrace your knowledge and potential. To encourage the participation from the developing countries, we have set aside some funding to support prominent scientists to participate the conference.
I look forward to meeting you at the ICSWHK2015 Conference in Hong Kong and, enjoy the most pleasurable experience in visiting one of the most dynamic and wonderful cities in the world.
